Returns & Refunds Policy
We are committed to providing high-quality products and fair service. This policy sets out your rights and our process for returns and refunds, in accordance with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth).
Please read this policy carefully before making a purchase. By purchasing from us, you agree to the terms set out below.
1. Australian Consumer Law — Statutory Rights
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified. This policy does not limit those rights. Under the ACL:
-
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure of a consumer guarantee
-
You are entitled to compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage resulting from a major failure
-
You are entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure is not major
These rights apply regardless of any other term in this policy.
2. Digital Products (E-books, PDFs, Digital Resources)
Due to the nature of digital products, we do not offer refunds for change of mind once a digital file has been downloaded or accessed. This is consistent with standard digital goods practice and the ACL.
You are entitled to a remedy (refund, replacement, or re-delivery) if:
-
The digital product is materially different from its description at the time of purchase
-
The file is corrupt, incomplete, or cannot be opened after reasonable troubleshooting on a compatible device
-
Delivery fails entirely and cannot be resolved within a reasonable timeframe
-
The product fails to meet a consumer guarantee under the ACL
To request a remedy, contact us at admin@noblehousepublishing.com.au within 14 days of purchase. Please include your order number, a description of the issue, and any relevant screenshots or error messages.
3. Physical Books
Physical books sold through our website are fulfilled by our distribution partners (Amazon KDP, Ingram Spark, Draft2Digital). Returns and refunds for physical products are subject to the policies of the relevant fulfilment platform at the point of purchase, in addition to your rights under the ACL.
If a physical book arrives damaged, defective, or significantly different from what was ordered, contact us at admin@noblehousepublishing.com.au within 14 days of receipt. Include your order number, a description of the issue, and clear photographs of the product and packaging. We will arrange a replacement or full refund as appropriate. You are not required to return a defective item to us unless we specifically request it.
4. Change of Mind
-
Digital products: No refunds or exchanges for change of mind once accessed or downloaded
-
Physical books: Please refer to the returns policy of the platform through which you purchased
We encourage you to review product descriptions carefully before purchase. If you have questions about a product, contact us at admin@noblehousepublishing.com.au before purchasing.
5. Unused and Unaccessed Products
If you have purchased a digital product and have not yet downloaded or accessed it, and wish to cancel for any reason, please contact us within 24 hours of purchase. We will consider such requests at our discretion, provided there is no evidence the product has been accessed.
6. Fraudulent or Unlawful Conduct
We reserve the right to refuse refund requests where we have reasonable grounds to believe a claim is fraudulent, abusive, or made in bad faith (e.g. a history of serial returns or disputed transactions inconsistent with usage evidence).
If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card provider without first contacting us and allowing a reasonable opportunity to resolve the matter, we reserve the right to contest the dispute and to suspend your access to future purchases. This does not affect any rights you have under the ACL.
7. How to Request a Refund or Return
To initiate a return or refund request:
-
Email admin@noblehousepublishing.com.au with the subject line: Refund Request — [Your Order Number]
-
Include your full name, order number, product name, and a clear description of the issue
-
Attach supporting evidence where applicable (screenshots, photographs, error messages)
We will acknowledge your request within 2 business days and aim to resolve all matters within 10 business days. For complex matters, we will keep you informed of progress.
8. Approved Refunds — Processing
Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method used at the time of purchase. Processing times are typically 5–10 business days from approval, depending on your financial institution. We will notify you by email when a refund has been processed.
We do not refund original shipping and handling fees unless the product was defective, not as described, or we are otherwise required to do so under the ACL.
9. Replacements
Where a replacement is offered in lieu of a refund, we will re-deliver or re-send the product at no additional cost to you. If a replacement is not available, a full refund will be issued.
